Pirates attack boats at Shell Beach, Waini

Two fishing boats were attacked at Shell Beach and in the Waini River mouth over the weekend by three masked men carrying shotguns and one of the captains was stripped of his boat, engine and other valuables. shotgun Cyril Baldeo, 40, of 59 Philadelphia, East Bank Essequibo and captain of the Arawak was at Calm Water, Shell Beach with his crew when the gunmen approached in another vessel and held them at gunpoint. According to the police, the gunmen ordered the captain to go to the Waini River mouth where they met another fishing boat captained by Krishendat Singh along with his crew of six. Singh and his crew were also robbed of valuables. The gunmen then forced two of Singh's crew members into Baldeo's boat and escaped. |
